What this site is
This is an independent archive of press releases published by United States Attorney's Offices. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Department of Justice, any United States Attorney's Office, or any court. It is not a court record and it is not an official government website.
The words in each entry
Each entry reproduces text that a United States Attorney's Office published on justice.gov, together with a link to the original. Works of the United States government are generally not subject to copyright protection under United States law. Every entry carries its source and its date so you can read the original for yourself, and the original is always the authoritative version. If a release has been updated or withdrawn since it was collected, the version on justice.gov is the one that counts.
The arrangement of this site — its design, its writing outside the quoted releases, and its organisation — is our own.
Accuracy, and being named
Press releases describe what the government alleges. An allegation is not a conviction. Everyone named is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges are sometimes dismissed, reduced, or brought against the wrong person, and when that happens the original office may quietly change or remove its page. No promise is made that every entry here reflects the current state of a case.
If you are named in an entry and something is wrong, out of date, or the charge was dismissed, use the contact page. A person reads every message and entries are corrected or removed.

How you may use it
Read it, link to it, quote it, and cite it. What you may not do is use this site to harass, threaten, extort or intimidate anyone named on it, try to break into or overload the site, scrape it in a way that interferes with it working, or present it as an official government source. Access may be blocked where that happens.
Links to other sites
Entries link to justice.gov and pages may link elsewhere. Those sites are not under our control and we are not responsible for what is on them.
No warranty, and limits
This site is provided as it is, without any warranty of any kind. It may be incomplete, out of date, or unavailable. To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss arising from using it or from being unable to use it.
Changes
These terms may change. The effective date at the top changes when they do, and continuing to use the site means the current version applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the site is operated, without regard to conflict of law rules.
